Composing became my passion after teaching piano for many years. Whether writing an outline before beginning a piece or just simply starting a composition, the music itself seems to guide me to its conclusion and I am merely serving as a conduit for the final composition. Although I am a pianist, I love working with different combinations of instruments so I can create all sorts of "colors."  

My love of both classical music and jazz clearly influence my compositions. Some of my favorite composers are Mozart, Debussy, Bartok and Copland, along with composers of the American Songbook such as Harold Arlen and George Gershwin.
